Party Plaid

Okay, I’ll admit it… I’ve been a bit mad for plaid lately. But can you blame me?

… This perpetual holiday print has been perfect for any and all upcoming holiday occasions.

You know how they say that you become like the people you spend the most time with? I think that’s me — and one of the primary reasons behind my increasingly preppy MO… Looking at you, Jessica Sturdy.

About a month ago, I instantly fell in love with the fun holiday element of this skirt (during a wine-soaked, late-night shopping sesh; oops).

I could totally see Jess wearing it, too, so we decided to swap outfits and link up in order to share our different outfit combinations/each of the ways we’d both style it.

Initially, I held off on purchasing the skirt for a while because I was worried about how to wear it after Christmas. I’ve actually found that it’s been a perfect fit for any type of wintery holiday party, though. (And I love how Jess wore hers with that beanie.)

It’s fairly simple to style, too — just keep the rest of your outfit subdued and this piece will look just right. (Plus, it’s on sale and in two different colors.)

If you’re all about the plaid pattern but the skirt is too much for your frame, Kate Spade also does a pair of plaid socks in this pattern. Super cute for Christmas morning, no?
