Mixed Motif

Three-day weekends tend to throw me for a loop… Same story for you, too?

In hindsight, I’m glad I stayed put — while most of Manhattan clears out over the holiday and heads East to close out Hamptons season, a small number of us stay in the city and relish the extra sidewalk space. No line at the grocery store, easy dinner reservations and a walk-in at SoulCycle? Life is GOOD!

… I know. But it’s the little things.

I’ve nearly finalized my plan for Fashion Week, and despite the fact that it’s intimidating as hell, I can’t wait to dive in.

The next few whirlwind days will be spent working, writing, photographing, catching up with blogger pals from across the country, and trekking to-and-from The Tents at Lincoln Center to the piers along the Westside Highway (where some of the edgier designers show their collections).

I’ll share more details later this week, but in the meantime, I’d suggest we keep in touch via Instagram if you’re interested in runway show snaps, tipsy updates from the after-after parties and, perhaps, an occasional selfie.

As you can tell, it’s (already) been a busy week. When the least of my concerns is what to wear, I rely on print-mixing to keep me on-trend and looking, well, like I have my shit together… Perception is reality, right?

Now, it’s back to my inbox. I hope you spent the three-day weekend sipping enough booze on the beach for the both of us!

  1. Absolutely love your color coordination here and the jacket is fab! I loved reading your fashion week post although I read it a tad bit too late and didnt get half of the things done right. I am going to be at the Rewardstyle event so I hope I get a chance to say hello!

    Have a great week!

  2. I am seriously loving this look you put together. I actually have that top from Loft & the skort & shoes from Zara. Would have never thought to combine it all. Love this!

  4. Your ability to mix prints is ridiculous (in an absolutely amazing way). I literally love seeing the different patterns you mix and then I head to my closet to see if I can do something similar. Thanks for all the inspiration.

  5. Well, it’s safe to say I’m obsessed with that blazer. Should’ve picked it up when it was on sale! And the whole outfit is just good. Super excited to insta-lk you for Fashion Week!
