A Bold Backdrop

How many more times can I talk about “this awkward in-between season” before you all collectively tell me to shut up?

Let’s try one more.

With so many lingering signs of winter, winter, winter, it was really refreshing to stumble upon the freshly painted, fundamentally geographic mural by Maya Hayuk on Bowery a few weeks back.

Amazing, no? Only in New York City…

Of course, Lydia, Jessica and I couldn’t resist an impromptu photo shoot. I think this was the first time ever that no one stood and gawked at us while we posed for pics.

Oh, and I’m totally kidding on the impromptu part — that happened next, when Jess and I wandered into Whole Foods for your usual Saturday night pre-game* essentials: hummus, pretzel thins and wine. Lots o’ wine.

*Yep, I’m 28 and I still pre-game. xoxo

  1. Hello fabulous skirt! And of course that wall is stunning. I keep seeing it over and over again, and loving it over and over again. Can I get a print version of it for my home? I will find a way!

  2. Hallie, I LOVE the way you styled that feather skirt! I’ve been obsessively wanting it, but didn’t know how I’d be able to dress it down and get more use out of it. Pairing it with booties and a moto jacket is genius!
