Happy Feet

A jam-packed day calls for a low-maintenance look, which is how this super-simple, chic ensemble was born.

The athleisure trend can actually be a difficult one to style, but I think I’m really coming into it.

After so many seasons of ridiculously high heels, my happy feet rejoiced as a few of my favorite classic brands (like adidas and New Balance) began to re-emerge in the fashion spotlight this spring.

Though New Balance’s colorful 574 kicks were my gateway drug back-in-the-day (I still wear my favorite pair a lot), I’ve been recently re-acquainted with some swoon-worthy adidas duds, which I’ve worn just about every day this week.

Indeed, adidas Originals are making a full-on fashion comeback, and I’m kicking myself for tossing my original Superstars into the donation bin approximately one million (seemingly) years ago.

Seriously. What’s next — Samba’s?

I still have my Beanie Babies, so maybe that’s worth something. (I will never admit to you guys just how many of those I have… Holy hoarder.)

If you haven’t quite embraced the athleisure trend, the easiest way is through a fresh pair of white kicks.

Zappos has a lot of different sneaker styles — and they’re the only vendor I’ve been able to find this polka dot pair. (Naturally, right? You think Zappos, and despite their wide-ranging website selection, you think shoes.)

I’ve been into sporty soles since, well, life — but especially so back when Isabel Marant’s sneaker wedges hit the scene in 2012. (Which, by the way — they’re on sale for 55% off right now.)

Nonetheless, these subtly two-toned, stylish sneaks are actually a bit easier to pull off.

At any rate, the outfit:

You can’t go wrong with a throw-this-on-and-wear-it-anywhere cotton dress, which I accessorized with sleek pair of matte black Beats (music is often the only accessory companion I need) and that leather backpack I’ve been lusting over for months. Months!

Yes, I finally bit the bullet on this bag, and I’m so glad I did. Zero buyer’s remorse, here, with how much I’ve been carrying it.

… And if you haven’t seen Rebecca Minkoff’s spring bag collection, check it out; there are so many cute options available. The apricot-colored mini version of my backpack is adorable, too.

Lastly, on another note — a lot of you have been asking about a hair-related post/tutorial, and I’m working on one to share with you in a just a few weeks. In general, Living Proof products have changed the game for me (and my baby-fine, frizzy hair), but I’ll talk to you more about the products I use specifically at a later date.

  1. Such cute sneakers! I wish my feet weren’t so huge and I could get away with these type of sneakers. I usually end of looking like I have clown feet when I wear sneakers like this.
ps I’m loving your snapchats! You’re totally hilarious :)
